      Orchid Cactus - Epiphyllum Pumilum

      Orchid Cactus - Epiphyllum Pumilum

If you see me flowering you will be really impressed, I produce lots of off-white fragrant blooms that resemble Orchids flowers.

Also my reliable bloom  if pollinated will produce a small edible fruit like the Pitaya. (Dragonfruit) and I am by far the most rewarding maintenance free house plant.

Please, don't let me dry out, I like my soil moist in spring & summer and I can do with a little bit less water in autumn & winter.

The Orchid Cactus is native to Central America and prefers bright & indirect light.

      Staghorn Fern - Platycerium Bifurcatum

      Staghorn Fern - Platycerium Bifurcatum

This is a fascinating houseplant with unusual upper leaves resembling stag's horns, hence the name.

Platyceriums have a slightly waxy texture which you must not remove (it’s a protective coating) and at the base of the plant you will find flat round basal fronds, or shield fronds, which go brown with age - this is an integral part of the plant so don’t remove or damage these.

The lower drooping fronds often have an unusual disk that catches insects for nutrients.
