      Loving is....

Loving is not just looking at each other, it’s looking in the same direction

      Be mine....

the smile that cleanses my soul
the eyes that stop time with a single glance
the touch of love from his hands
I’ve been waiting for this day
      this special time
all I can do is pray
for you to be my Valentine

I wish your pyjamas were next to my nightie

I love you, I love you, I love you, so mighty.
I wish your pyjamas were next to my nightie.
Don't be mistaken don't be misled,
I mean on the washing line and not in bed.

      Valentine's Day Ethical Flowers

I still love you so much

      The way you give me
      That come-to-bed gaze.
      The way you touch me.
      You set me ablaze.
      You’ve always had it.
      That wonderful touch.
And I just want to tell you
I still love you so much.

      My love to you

I love you more than words can say,
I love you more each passing day.
You're my life, you're my best friend,
My love to you won't ever end.

      Love you longer

I wish I could turn back the clock. I'd find you sooner and love you longer.

      Valentine's Day Gift

      The next sixty year

      I swear when
      our lips touch,
      I can taste
      the next sixty
      years of my life.

      True Love

      We’re all a little weird.
And life is a little weird.
And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall into mutually satisfying weirdness
      and call it love
      true love.

      Felt with the heart

The best and most beautiful things in this world cannot be seen or even heard,
but must be felt with the heart.

      The best thing

The best thing to hold onto in life is each other

      Lovers

The minute I heard my first love story, I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was.
Lovers don't finally meet somewhere. They're in each other all along.

      Saucy devil

I want to be a saucy devil.
I want to try out something new.
      But not with just anyone.
It has to be with YOU!

      Be my Valentine

      Violets are blue,
      Roses are thorny.
      Be my valentine,
      Because I am horny!

Hope they bought a smile and a chuckle too! Take care x

      Curious Facts About Valentine's Day

      Curious Facts About Valentine's Day

A fertility festival was taking place on the 14th of February in Roman times

Between February 13th and 15th the Romans celebrated the pagan festival Lupercalia which involved sacrificing a goat and whipping women. Believe it or not the Romans thought that this made women more fertile and women actually lined up to get whipped...

In the fifth century, Pope Gelasius I made Lupercalia  festival illegal and declared February 14th as St Valentine's Day.

St Valentine  was a Catholic saint executed by the Roman Emperor Claudius II on the 14th of February.

One of the legends said that St Valentine was a priest who performed weddings for soldiers who were not allowed to marry.

Chocolates Is Synonymous With Valentine’s Day Gifts Because Of Cadburys

Chocolate and Valentine’s Day go together and this is thanks to the Englishman Mr Cadbury!

In 1868 Richard Cadbury  gave a hand painted heart shaped chocolate box to is loved one and so began the tradition of giving chocolate on St Valentines Day!

      The longest marriage ever!

Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher from North Carolina, hold the Guinness World Record for the longest marriage.

They were married for 86 years and 290 days, and as Ralph said the key to his and Dorothy's longevity is their healthy living and agreeable nature.

Where does the heart shape  form come from?

As you are aware if we needed to draw our heart anatomically correct with its valves and chambers  the shape would be far more complex  than the typical heart symbol that we are so familiar with.

It is not clear where the  love heart shape that we identify with (and that is  by far easier to draw!) comes from.

Some suggest that it may come from the now extinct  Silphium'  plant seed or fruit which was once available in some parts of Africa.

      Why red roses?

      Have you heard of floriography?

Floriography is the 'language of flowers' and dating back to the Victorian times. Floriography was used as a means of coded communication through various flowers and floral arrangements, allowing people to express feelings which otherwise could not be spoken.

Red roses meant romance and today they still carry the same symbol of romance.

How long can a kiss can last?

In 2013 a Thai couple set the world record for the longest continuous kiss, which lasted for 58 hours, 35 minutes and 58 seconds. Phew!

Cupid was the Greek god of love

At the beginning he was called Eros and he was considered extremely attractive for both humans and gods.

Then his name change to Cupid and according to Greek mythology, he had 2 gold arrows to make people fall in love and 2 lead one to make people hate.

The Romans added him to their mythology as Cupid, the son of Venus, who was the goddess of love.

During the Renaissance, artists painted Cupid as a putto, a cherub that resembled a naked child.

Unfortunately for Cupid, that depiction stuck and went on to become a popular image for Valentine’s Day.

X mean kiss and it as been in use since the Medieval times

The symbol x for kissing has been around since the Middle Ages, where people that weren't able to write and read would sign a document with an X.

X is a symbol representative of Christ because of its similarity to a cross and so they would then reverently kiss the X in a show of their love for god.
